Favorite Software and Websites
My Favorite Software:For photos, I use the free photo organizer from Google: Picasa2. It’s the best I’ve tried. It will help you get your photos from your digital camera, lets you sort them neatly, will crop and adjust the contrast, etc., makes it easy to e-mail the photos or you can upload them to the photo service of your choice. (I use Kodak Gallery, formerly known as Ofoto.)
Are you baking up your files? Here’s an easy way to do it automatically and safely: Mozy Remote Backup Files are encrypted and stored on servers at Mozy.
How many miles are you walking, jogging or biking? This website lets you map out your route and then compute how many miles. Check it out here.
This is one of my favorite little programs that helps me work faster and easier: File Box Extender When you use Windows Explorer (a program that is part of Windows, but different from Internet Explorer) this handy program helps you browse faster through the files on your computer. I use RoboForm to keep track of my passwords. You can keep it on a USB thumb drive and take it with you to use on other computers. You have to have the master password to get into all the other passwords.
